NLA has two types of membership viz. personal and institutional.    The membership is open to all librarians, library technicians, library workers, library supporters, library and information organizations and corporations that serve the library community in Nepal.
Personal member
Personal membership of NLA is available to all librarians and information workers, library technicians, library students and people who have any LIS degree or training certificate and/or work in the LIS profession.
Institutional member
Institutional membership of NLA is available to all library and information organizations and corporations that serve the library and information community in Nepal.

With networks of more than 4200 library and information workers / professionals gives you ample avenues and platforms to enrich your career, leadership and professional development  opportunities and access into the realm of LIS profession of the information and knowledge society. As a member of NLA one gets various exposures in the world market such as in various conferences, workshops, trainings throughout the world.

Governance: NLA is governed directly by the elected committee (council /executive body). Moreover, NLA forms various need-based and /or task-based subcommittees to carry out its functions. The executive council is responsible to carry out the strategic and regular functions of the association after the powerful and ultimate decisive agency – The General Assembly/Meeting of the members.
